This is something we take very seriously at Agri Evolve. Some people might say that because we are not a charity we are not transparent. This is not the case! Many of us have donated money to charity and never found out what happened to that money, and whether the project was successful!? This is why we came up with the idea that the best way to show someone that their money had been used wisely was to pay them it back. This shows that the project was successful. That is the best proof there can be to show how transparent and responsible we are. That is our business model and it is our goal to be able to do that.
However at the moment we are going through the process of becoming regulated and as such we can not promote the idea of returning peoples money to them. But, don’t worry, we are still transparent…..
We release regular updates and reports about our work which you will receive when you become involved in one of our projects, or sign up to our newsletter. By supporting us you will have an individual Agri Evolve account. In that account you can track the progress of your project and see what your money is doing. If the project is successful and the farmer is able to pay us back you will be informed and you will be able to reinvest the money into a new project of your choice. If the project is not successful, we will inform you and explain why the farmer was not able to pay us back – even though we work hard to ensure this doesn’t happen. In farming it is not possible to have a 100% success rate due to factors outside of our control.
We have a Supervisory Board to oversee our work and a local board of advisers in Uganda who work closely with us to make sure we are transparent and that money is used in line with our aims and values.
