Yes, we believe in a business model that can become financially sustainable. There are many projects and organisations that are successful in the short term, but once the funding has dried up the work stops.
We are different, and that is why from the start we have a new and innovative approach. We will make sure that all of the projects we run are income generating and therefore can pay us back the money that is invested. The money that is paid back to us from the projects will cover the running costs of the business, but also provide capital that can be reinvested in new projects. Over time, we will have more and more projects and the more we have, the more money we generate, the more money we generate the more projects we can invest in. It is a principle of recycling money and it will enable us to grow and develop through our own hard work and success. However, we obviously need some help getting going!
The long term vision is that the business will be managed by Ugandans. Through its work it will be able to cover its costs as well as invest in new projects so more and more farmers benefit from our work.
